31 March 2011
MUSIC & MOONLIGHT: An
evening of words and music to touch your heart.
On Thursday 31st March we will be holding a classical
music concert in which the students from Year 7 to Year 12 will
participate. They will be playing various instruments such as
the piano, classic guitar, violin, clarinet, viola, cello, flute
and the harp.
We will also enjoy performances from 'The Three Tenors' of The
British College, two teachers, Mr. Thomas and Mr. Griffiths, and
the father of one of our students, Mr. Sinervo, who together
with three female teachers, Miss Naomi, Miss Trish and Mrs Bedding,
and a group of secondary students, will sing traditional songs from
the United Kingdom.
Poetry and Drama will also play an important part in this
evening. Various students from years 7 to12 will recite a
selection of poems from English literature and the students from
year 12 who are studying Drama and Theatre Studies will perform a
scene from 'Othello' by Shakespeare, and another from 'The
Importance of Being Ernest' by Oscar Wilde. Both scenes form
part of the practical work that they must do for their AS level
examinations in June.
The Art Department will also contribute to making this a special
evening by decorating the stage and with a display of artwork that
has been carried out by secondary students.
It is really important that as many of you as possible attend
the concert, because your participation in school life is
essential, because the students taking part in it deserve to
have their efforts recognized and because it encourages
the participation of other students in the future.
Thank you so much for your collaboration.
